An Oshkosh native, he created his first ring as a freshman in high school, a silver and black onyx ring for himself. Always having an interest in nature and art, he continued this interest through his artwork. At the University of Wisconsin- Oshkosh Paul continued his art interest focusing on art metals, sculpture, and design. Upon graduation he was accepted into graduate school at the University of Wisconsin- Madison where he studied under two of the leading metalsmiths in the country. While attending Madison, he received Best of Craft awards two of the three years he was a student. Upon graduation with two master degrees in metalsmithing, he started his jewelry career in Indiana. Wanting to get back to Wisconsin, he accepted an offer in Sturgeon Bay where he learned the finer details of making beautiful jewelry. He also learned how to design with the client and design a piece to match their likes and personality. While living in Sturgeon Bay he spent his free time fishing the bay harbor. This led him to design a line of fish rings, rings that look like the fish from the Wisconsin waters. Fish earring, pendants, and bracelets eventually were made. Paul returned to Oshkosh in 2012 to join the Reimer Jeweler team. He personally works with all the custom clients from design to completion. His skill in carving the original wax model, to casting, stone setting, finishing, and final polish is wonderful. He takes great pride in the pieces he makes and loves seeing the excitement on the clients face when they open the blue box. His main focus is creating bridal rings, right hand rings, and pendants. “I enjoy working with the client, creating a one of a kind piece using diamonds or a colored stone that are cast in either gold, silver, or platinum. No matter what the piece is, design and craftsmanship are the most important. A piece of jewelry should make the wearer smile every time they put it on. It is one of a few items that has emotions and meaning attached to it! He recently graduated from Gem City College in Quincy, IL, with a diploma in watchmaking. Jack enjoys taking something that isn’t working and mechanically restoring it to its utmost precision in timing. He has a personal watch collection, and his most treasured piece is a 1960 Caravelle automatic that he restored. Another favorite is an Elgin pocket watch, which was his first personal restoration. Jack is working toward earning his AWCI certification for 21st-century watchmaking. He looks forward to working with customers and servicing their repairs. He will be handling in-store watch services, including mechanical and quartz movement repairs, watch crystal replacements, stem and crown repairs, and bracelet adjustments.
